The Pentagon Memorial is a tribute to the recovery and determination of all affected by the tragedy. The actions taken against the Pentagon are reflected in the landscape reverberating away from the structure. The radiating lines are representative of the dramatic and engulfing wave of reaction to the plane impacting the building, and reproduce for the building an eternal sense of its place within the world society. The lines within the landscape trace both the plane’s trajectory into the building as well as the building’s reaction to the event.
